A Christian university has proposed new rules that would see students forced to dress in keeping with the biological sex prescribed to them at birth. If the changes come to pass, same sex couples will be banned from showing affection to one another whilst on campus. Pre-marital sex could also be banned. The private university, based in Cleveland, has strict, traditional Christian ethics. According to their website, the institution provides “clear expectations” in order to help students combine their walk with God with student life. Those attending Lee full-time are expected to attend at least 70% of chapel services offered across the semester, of which there are four each week. The Affirming Alum Collective, an LGBT alumni group, have condemned the move. In a statement, they said: “We take this stand because, we believe in Lee’s inclusive culture of faith, hope, and love, and we trust that it will prevail.”
