Potential UK Conservative leader Says There is no Such Thing as a Transgender Child

British politician Kemi Badenoch is in the running to be the next conservative leader of the opposition party in the UK. She is a staunch sex-based rights advocate for women and doesn’t believe children can be transgender. When asked about what she would do differently on gender issues in a discussion hosted by the Mumsnet website, Mrs Badenoch said: “Looking at the purpose of what a gender recognition certificate means in 2024 I think is important. “I also think that we should look at how a law that was made for adults is now being used for children, so I fundamentally disagree with the concept of a child being trans when the law talks about doing these things post-18. So, I use the phrase ‘gender-questioning children’.” Mrs Badenoch added there was a “huge overlap” between gay children with autism and children who believed that they were transgender. On the growing numbers of children seeking to change gender, she said: “How do we make sure it is those who have gender dysphoria who are the ones who enter this category – and long-term gender dysphoria, not the one that falls away?

“So, making sure that children don’t end up on the pathway to irreversible decisions is absolutely critical.” Mrs Badenoch added she had been working on rewriting the Equality Act in order to clarify that “sex” referred to biological sex until Rishi Sunak called the general election. She went on to claim gender identity had become a phenomenon “where people say they’re 24 different genders and it’s about how you feel”, saying: “We have to make sure that we don’t lose touch with reality.” Badenoch’s views are clearly backed by evidence-based science and reality. Her position is based on facts, not a radical ideology. It is high time Australian politicians took the same view and stopped trying to appease gender ideologues who have no evidence to support their activism.
