An Australian male incarcerated for violent sexual assault and murder is reportedly “transitioning” in prison. A sadistic sex offender serving a sentence for the horrific rape and murder of a young woman has begun claiming a transgender identity. Mark Richard Lawrence, now 64, was 22 when he abducted, raped, and murdered Julie Ann Muirhead. Lawrence, who now calls himself Maryanne, previously confessed that he “always wanted to kill a girl” and said he “tried to kill his 12-year-old sister” as practice. Lawrence has a long and disturbing criminal record. The convicted rapist and killer began offending when he was just a teenager and has said he began to have violent fantasies beginning from the age of 15. His rap sheet is long and extremely disturbing. Violent sexual assaults and murder has landed the man in prison on and off since 1978. While in a mental health facility in the 1980s he lured a fellow patient away from the home where he violently raped her and slit her throat with a broken bottle.
While in prison he has violently raped his cellmate and continued to express rape and murder fantasies. He has been released and re-incarcerated several times. Now it is reported he is undergoing “transitioning” treatments and is referred to as Maryanne. Thankfully he is in the Queensland justice system which does not permit males to be housed in female prison regardless of how they identify. The question must be asked, though, what if he were in another state? And why is any system entertaining the lie that this violent male criminal can be any sort of woman? All males remain male regardless of the costumes, drugs or surgeries they partake in. No male should ever be referred to as female nor treated as such.
